So, here’s the question, Do angels have gender? Something to consider. Now, for the most part you have people who will tell you that angels do have gender. However, what does the bible suggest about this?
In Genesis 19: 10-12, two angels enter the city of Sodom where Lot is to see him. They are both referred to as being male. They are also mentioned in Revelations as male.
However, here’s a little lesson for you. God is also genderless. However, when He is talked about in the bible God is referred to as a He. The reason behind this is because of how the Greek language is written. Greek words either have a feminine or masculine tone behind them. The reason why God is referred to as a male is because of the authority He has and the power He holds.
So, when the bible claims the angels to be male it is because of the masculine tone behind the Greek voice.
Here’s what I believe. Angels are genderless. If they had gender then that would mean that we would be even with them. However, we are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). That means that we are the physical for of God just like Jesus. The angels, however, are not. So, I believe that angels do not have gender. Something to think about.
